What homeowners come to us with

The original floorplan isolated the cook behind a dark partition wall and a boxed-in peninsula. Upper soffits made the 8-foot ceiling feel claustrophobic, and limited counter space left no room for family gatherings or entertaining.

How we build it

We installed temporary shoring and replaced the load-bearing wall with an engineered LVL beam recessed flush into the ceiling joists to avoid an unsightly dropped bulkhead. We eliminated the soffits to extend custom cabinetry to the ceiling, routed under-cabinet LED channels, and framed a dedicated walk-in butler pantry.

What you end up with

A sunlit, open great room anchored by a 9-foot quartz waterfall island with seating for four. Built with soft-close dovetailed drawers, custom pullouts, herringbone wood flooring, and handmade zellige tile backsplash.
